Husband-and-wife team Nathalie and Peter Petschenig provide comprehensive hunter-jumper training designed to help riders meet and exceed their riding goals. Whether you’re at the walk-trot level or aiming to compete at the highest levels of hunter, jumper, or equitation classes, Peter and Nathalie Petschenig are here to guide you every step of the way.
With decades of experience as FEI and Grand Prix riders, Peter and Nathalie bring unparalleled expertise to their training program. They have successfully developed riders from the lowest levels of hunters and jumpers to compete and place in top show jumping Grand Prixs. Their dedication to excellence ensures that every rider, regardless of their skill level, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
With a world-class hunter-jumper training facility in Pilot Point, Texas, just outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we proudly offer training tailored to suit each rider’s individual needs. Meet your trainers
Peter Petschenig
Hailing from Austria, Peter Petschenig has been working in the US since 2012 to establish a training center that combines the classical equestrian heritage of Europe with the competitive spirit of the United States.
Peter began his riding career at eight, winning his first ribbons in the 1.30m by age thirteen. At nineteen, he worked for Hank Melse at his prestigious Netherlands show jumping barn. Later, Peter trained with and worked for Swiss riders Beat and Markus Maendli and Willi Melliger in Switzerland. He then went on to work, train and show around the globe for an impressive list of top owners and sponsors including:

Peter’s mentors include Hugo Simon and Thomas Frühmann, two of the top European riders.
Peter boasts numerous wins in Grand Prix events throughout Italy, Chile, Austria, and the United States, along with top finishes in World Cup competitions. Peter, who also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Institute of Management, Salzburg, Austria.
Nathalie Petschenig:
An equestrian legacy
At age three, Nathalie Petschenig (née Cooper) began her lifelong adventures in riding under the guidance of her grandfather, USEF Hall of Fame Inductee and equestrian legend Morton “Cappy” Smith.
Nathalie competed on the East Coast as a junior rider, focusing on equitation, hunter, and jumpers. She consistently ranked among the top in her competitions, meddling and ribboning in shows throughout the united states including the Pony Finals, Medal Finals, Maclay Regionals and Finals, USET Finals, New England Equitation finals, Rhode Island Horsemen's Association finals, MassFinals, Massachusetts Hunter Jumper Association finals, Foxfield Medal finals, and California Professional Horsemen's Association finals, among others. Nathalie won several medal finals and horsemanship awards for her knowledge and care.
Nathalie graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2007, where she won individual National titles in Open Fences and Flat, competing on their IHSA team. Nathalie first excelled in leadership while captaining the Mount Holyoke Equestrian Team to National Titles.
After graduation, Nathalie moved to California, where she started Acorn Farm. She successfully trained riders from the lower levels up to qualifying for many medal finals, including the Maclay Regionals, CPHA, PCHA, and other West Coast equitation, hunter, and jumper championships.
In recent years, Nathalie has successfully competed in the upper-level jumpers, placing in several Grand Prix after winning her first Grand Prix in 2015.
Not only is Nathalie an accomplished Grand Prix rider, she has won and ribboned in many international and national derbies, highlighting her versatility as a rider and trainer.
