Unlike the United States where no special licensing or certification is required to promote oneself as a trainer, in Europe an individual is required to, not only pass a written exam, but also has a paneled jury decide if they have the skills necessary to train a horse. Withouth this certification a person cannot be classified as a Professional Horse Trainer nor an Instructor.
During the certificatin process the prospective trainer must give a lesson before a juried panel and must also ride and school a young or green horse, as well as a finished, older, horse before the panel. Upon completion of these tasks the jury decides whether that individual posesses the skills necessary to be certified, and only after receiving this certification can an individual officially promote themselves as a professional trainer. Peter Petschanig has passed such stringent scrutiny and is classified as Professional Horse Trainers within the European community. Now, he makes his services available in the United States.

Additionally, Europe has far more stringent animal welfare requirements than the United States. Horses are held to a standard of humane treatment - both in their care and in their training that far exceeds those required in the United States. When you have your horses in training, or in the care of Petschenig Show Jumpers, your horses will be cared for and trained to a higher standard.
Peter and Nathalie Petschenig won't take shortcuts to garner a level of performance from any horse. Horses are fitted and trained according to their own abilities to learn and perform - not to meet an arbitrary show schedule. A horse's long term performance and welfare is made a top priority and the training program is managed accordingly. When you have a horse in training with Petschenig Show Jumpers you can rest assured that they are in the best of care under the best of circumstances.
Nathalie comes from an equestrian legacy and is also a lifelong equestrian. Her calm and compassionate manner is perfect for getting the most out of every horse. As former captain of her Mount Holyokes Equestrian Team she knows where she can push a horse and where she needs to let them figure it out. Nathalie's knowledge and experience is a tremendous asset to Petschenig Show Jumpers. Nathalie's varied background makes her a wonderful coach and trainer for hunters, jumpers and equitation riders of all levels.

Hunter/Jumper Training overviewOur training program is based out of the lovely horse community of Pilot Point, Texas where each client's training program is adjusted to meet their specific needs, as well as tailored to the scope, ability, and talent of each individual horse. It is our goal to get maximum performance out of each horse in hunter/jumper training without needlessly overworking it. Your horse should become a sports partner that will enjoy his job and will be able to perform for an extended period of time.

A training combination that includes the rider and the horse individually, and then together as a team.
Peter rides and evaluates your horse upon arrival at our facility, then develops a detailed training program for your horse. YOUR personal riding and competitive goals as well as your goals for your HORSE are discussed. From there we develop a training and coaching program with benchmarks to help you reach those goals. A customized show schedule for every horse will be created after our inital meeting.

- Vet and farrier appointments are scheduled on your horse's behalf
- Your horses supplements & medications (as needed) are organized and arranged for.
- Blanketing and routine clipping of ears, legs and bridle path is included.
- Horse is worked 5 days a week, the 6th day your horse will get out of the stall on the hotwalker or will be turned out where he is able to rest and relax!
Recovery & Layup Plan

This program is specifically designed for horses who are not in training or are on layup. Peter and Nathalie provide the same care package as the other programs but your horse will be put on the walker or will be turned out 5 times a week.
